{"id":146,"date":"2011-06-21T08:14:02","date_gmt":"2011-06-21T13:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/?p=146"},"modified":"2011-06-21T08:19:48","modified_gmt":"2011-06-21T13:19:48","slug":"another-love-of-mine-my-garden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/?p=146","title":{"rendered":"Another Love of Mine &#8211; My Garden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It starts each year with the blossoming of a few snowdrops and some lovely crocuses. \u00a0I planted crocuses the first year I came to Qu\u00e9bec from my home province of\u00a0Manitoba.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/new-crocus2-easter-2010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-152\" title=\"new crocus2 easter 2010\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/new-crocus2-easter-2010.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/new-crocus2-easter-2010.jpg 599w, https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/new-crocus2-easter-2010-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/spring-2011-crocuses.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-149\" title=\"spring 2011 crocuses\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/spring-2011-crocuses.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/spring-2011-crocuses.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/spring-2011-crocuses-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love flowers and since 2004 have been working on my border garden, expanding it, adding plants that were given to me or plants that I purchased and even some wildflowers were seeded here that I suppose flew in from the woods on the wind&#8230;like these woodland flowers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/woodland-flowers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-157\" title=\"woodland flowers\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/woodland-flowers.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/woodland-flowers.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/woodland-flowers-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a picture of the top of the garden from last year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/bordergarden.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-153\" title=\"bordergarden\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.lablanchepoterie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/bordergarden.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"599\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/bordergarden.jpg 398w, https:\/\/blog.lmserafin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/bordergarden-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next flowers to come up after the crocuses and daffodils are tulips. \u00a0I&#8217;ve had a great bunch of colourful tulips come up two springs now. \u00a0I&#8217;ve heard that tulips are finicky and will eventually stop blooming. \u00a0I hope these lovely flowers come up for a few more years at least!<\/p>\n<p>I guess you could say I&#8217;m an experimental gardener because I will try pretty much any plant and if it doesn&#8217;t work, then it doesn&#8217;t work. \u00a0This garden is in partial shade, so it can be difficult to find things that truly flourish. \u00a0Bleeding hearts seem to do exceptionally well.
